Cliff Wallace awarded the Yellow River Friendship Award in China

(14 October 2008, Zhengzhou, China)  Mr. Cliff Wallace, Chairman of the Hong Kong - Shanghai Venue Management (Zhengzhou) Ltd. and the President of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, was presented with the “Yellow River Friendship Award” by the Henan Provincial People’s Government in a formal ceremony held on 27 September 2008 in Henan, China.

Mr. Wallace was delighted to receive the honour stating, “It is my great honour to be one of the recipients of the Yellow River Friendship Award. I would like to thank the Henan Provincial People’s Government for recognising my contributions and those of our management company in Zhengzhou and Henan. The professional management company for the Zhengzhou International Convention and Exhibition Centre (ZZICEC) is dependent on support of the municipal officials and I deeply appreciate the sound leadership and commitment of Henan Provincial People’s Government. Our management team couldn’t have achieved so much without the enormous support from the government officials. Our professional management team will spare no effort to promote Zhengzhou and to bring quality business and operating practices to the ZZICEC.”

The “Yellow River Friendship Award” is presented by the Henan Provincial People’s Government to individuals who have made prominent contributions to the economic development and social progress of Henan Province, China. A total of nine veterans of different professions outside China were awarded the prize this year.

Henan is the largest province in the PRC with nearly 100 million inhabitants.  Zhengzhou is the capital city of Henan Province situated in the heart of Central Plain regions. It serves as a hub for road and rail which is critical to the continuing development of the Central Plains region and exhibition industry within China. Zhengzhou hosted 93 exhibitions in 2007 utilising an exhibition area of more than one million square meters.
